  • Keselowski Wins NASCAR Cup Series Title

    HOMESTEAD, Florida (November 18, 2012) - Brad Keselowski and the Penske Racing Team claimed the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) championship Sunday evening at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Keselowski entered the 2012 Cup Series finale with a 20-point advantage over five-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson.

     

    Carlisle is an associate sponsor of the No. 2 Dodge Charger that earned the title after Johnson finished back in the field after suffering mechanical issues. Keselowski's 15th-place effort capped a remarkable season that featured five wins, 13 top-five and 23 top-10 finishes. The result also secured the 24th national championship in the storied history of Penske Racing.

    Keselowski, 28, celebrated his first NASCAR Cup, in just his third season. Team owner Roger Penske said, "It's all about the people in our organization and obviously Brad coming on our board three years ago, and we set a plan and we stuck to it. To win this championship is amazing."
