  • Carlisle's Hawk & Black Rock UTV Wins 2012 Baja 1000

    Jan 4, 2013

La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico (November 17, 2012) - Very few participate, about half finish and only the best claim victory. After 1,121 miles, Team Carlisle won the division in the 45th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. The grueling race started November 15 in Ensenada, Baja California and ended November 17 in La Paz, Mexico.

Of the 298 starters, only 174 finished the race. Carlisle's Hawk Performance Brakes and Black Rock Wheels crossed the finish line first in the 4-wheel utility vehicle division.  The Carlisle Team included Carlisle CEO Dave Roberts and division president Chris Koch.  The team faced brutal conditions through the tortuous terrain of the Baja peninsula but ran a dominant race and finished over eight hours ahead of the next competitor.

The team benefited greatly from the durability and performance of Carlisle's performance belts and brakes. Congratulations to everyone involved in this effort, and for proving once again how Carlisle products and people stand up to the most difficult tests!
