CARLISLE RELEASES NEW TURF SMART TIRE FOR PRO AND HEAVY DUTY TURF CARE
Nashville (Franklin), Tenn. – Nashville based Carlisle Transportation Products announced the release of its new Turf Smart tire, purpose designed for heavy duty professional and consumer premium grade turf equipment applications. The new intelligent-design tire is targeted for ZTR, riding mower and other grounds care equipment and is manufactured at Carlisle's Jackson, Tennessee factory. Offering a wide selection of turf-proven, purpose-designed tread and application-based puncture resistant compounding, Carlisle has long been a leading manufacturer of turf specialty tires for the outdoor power equipment market.
Earning the product name Turf Smart, Carlisle’s R&D group incorporated several intelligent design features to achieve enhanced traction. A unique Groove Ejection System (G.E.S.), an important self-cleaning feature, decreases tread channel fouling between tread elements delivering maximum tractive power. To reduce the incidence of so-called “crab walking” during use under steeper surface conditions with higher degrees of slope, an innovative Turf Smart tread pattern was developed for better incline mowing side hill grip. The tire profile has been optimized, enlarging the contact patch where tire meets turf. An increase in surface-to-surface contact improves traction and vehicle weight distribution, an important feature for maximum turf protection. Turf Smart utilizes Carlisle’s extended wear rubber compound and construction to deliver the durability required by outdoor power equipment professionals.
